چکیده
Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) bars are anisotropic in nature and have high tensile strength the fiber direction. The use of High-Strength Concrete (HSC) allows for better high-strength properties FRP bars. mechanical can yield to large crack widths deflections. As a result, design concrete elements reinforced with materials is often governed by Serviceability Limit States (SLS). This study investigates short-term serviceability behavior RC I-beams. Eight I-beams carbon-FRP (CFRP) four steel I-beams, comparison purposes, were tested under two-point loading. Deformations on spacing measured analyzed. A discussion main aspects SLS introduced. service load that fulfills requirements, at cross-section level, ranges between 0.27 0.38 times ultimate sections dimensioned fail crushing. determinant criterion deflection limitation

متن کاملBehavior of Coupling Beams Strengthened with Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer Sheets
In this research, using the results of 6 tests, the effect of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) sheets on the behavior of reinforced concrete coupling beams of shear walls is studied. First, in the experimental part of the study, four coupling beams with different reinforcements were manufactured and tested. Then, after the failure of the specimens, two of them were rehabilitated and stren...
متن کاملTorsion Behavior of Steel Fibered High Strength Self Compacting Concrete Beams Reinforced by GFRB Bars
This paper investigates experimentally and analytically the torsion behavior of steel fibered high strength self compacting concrete beams reinforced by GFRP bars. Steel fibered high strength self compacting concrete (SFHSSCC) and GFRP bars became in the recent decades a very important materials in the structural engineering field. The use of GFRP bars to replace steel bars has emerged as one o...
متن کاملImproved Bond Equations for Fiber-Reinforced Polymer Bars in Concrete
This paper explores a set of new equations to predict the bond strength between fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) rebar and concrete. The proposed equations are based on a comprehensive statistical analysis and existing experimental results in the literature. Namely, the most effective parameters on bond behavior of FRP concrete were first identified by applying a factorial analysis on a part of t...
متن کاملDesign of Concrete Railing Reinforced with Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer Bars
The use of Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) reinforcement is a practical alternative to conventional steel rebars in concrete structures subjected to aggressive environments. The solution is attractive for bridge deck and rail applications, as it eliminates corrosion of the steel reinforcement, which is the major instrument of degradation. Due to the peculiar physical and mechanical characteristi...
